Safety & Access are proud to announce that they have opened a second CISRS registered training facility in South Korea. The new centre based in Ulsan in the south of the country represents a very important strategic base to provide support to the major shipbuilding and offshore industries there and will complement the existing centre that is located at Geoje.
The new centre is opened in partnership with Spanish based service provider Applus Velosi and offers CISRS scaffold related training including scaffolder skills, scaffold inspection and scaffold supervisor.
Following the accreditation Safety & Access Joint MD Rick Statham added; The new centre represents a very important location for us. We have provided training for almost 3000 people at Geoje primarily with Samsung and with other clients. We have been trading here in Korea for approaching four years and we can see the requirement for quality training growing.
Following the accreditation a presentation was arranged with local key clients including DSME, Shell and Chevron to outline the present and future plans for training and support in the area.
The presentation was delivered as a joint exercise including input from CISRS Scheme Manager David Mosley who commented; It is excellent to see Safety & Access expanding their presence in South Korea and hope the new centre will be as successful as the centre in Geoje. CISRS also recognise the fantastic commitment made by Samsung Hea
vy Industries in training over 2500 people in recent years making South Korea the region with most CISRS OSTS qualified scaffolders worldwide.
