image002Safety & Access Ltd have been delivering the Scaffolding Apprenticeship since 2010 at our Nottingham Training Centre and successfully had 50 Apprentices become qualified, we are delighted to announce that from 10th November 2014 we will also be offering the same apprenticeship from our North East Lincolnshire Centre.

We are supporting the NASC President Apprenticeship Challenge

NASC President has challenged the members to create a minimum of 400 new scaffolding apprentices. If we reach our target this will also result in a minimum donation of £40,000.00 to the Teenage Cancer Trust by the member companies who have kindly agreed to be sponsors of this worthy challenge/cause. The good news is that to date the members have managed to register 153 new scaffolding apprentices who have since completed their apprentice induction training.

NASC members we believe we all have a responsibility to lead from the front and set the right example to the rest of the scaffolding industry as well as to our clients.

Did you know that if you Are a CITB in scope company you could be able to claim upto £6000.00 per student on completion of their Apprenticeship.

If you also employ less than 1000 staff within your company you maybe also entitled to an addition £1500.00 per student.

What is a Scaffolding apprenticeship?

On this apprenticeship the students will learn how to erect and dismantle scaffolding for construction industry in a safe manner.

  • Made of metal and timber, scaffolding is the structure that enables construction workers to gain access to the places they need to work on.
  • Be prepared to work outdoors in all weathers, at height.

Course Programme Includes

11 Weeks Scaffolding Training at one of our centres in Nottingham or North East Lincolnshire
On this Scaffolding apprenticeship you’ll gain all the skills and knowledge you need to start a career in this area of the construction industry, plus:

  • Interpreting information
  • Estimating resources
  • Basic building methods
  • Building elements.

Age 16-23 Years Old

No formal requirements, but it’s useful to have GCSEs (grade A*-C) in English and maths.
Completion of an application form and an informal interview

On completion of the 2 Year Scaffolding apprenticeship, you’ll have these qualifications/certification:

  • CISRS Operative Training Scheme (COTS)
  • Level 2 Construction Diploma in Scaffolding
  • Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Accessing and Rigging Occupations: Scaffolding
  • The Construction Industry Scaffolders’ Record Scheme (CISRS) Scaffolders’ Registration Card
  • Level 1 Functional Skills (Maths and English)
  • Employment Responsibilities and Rights
  • Personal Learning and Thinking Skills.
  • PASMA (Mobile access Tower)
  • First Aid and Fire Awareness
  • Manual Handling

All Students that complete the scaffolding apprenticeship programme will come away as a fully Qualified Scaffolder.
