Safety & Access have been successful in securing more funding up to the 31st July 2015 for the 4th Year running. The funding is designed to help employers qualify their workforce within scaffolding and the Work Place Learning scheme is a Government funded programme to help employers train and qualify their workforce.
We are delivering the CISRS 10 Day Part 2 Scaffolding Training including the NVQ Level 2 at our Nottingham Training Centre and North East Lincolnshire (CATCH) Training Centres which is within the scope of this funding.
The training helps your employees improve their skills and gives them the opportunity to establish their vocational competence by gaining a nationally recognised NVQ level 2.
Who Can Apply?
Fully Funded CISRS Part 2 Scaffolding Training Including NVQ level 2
Funding is available for anyone who:
- has held a CISRS Part 1 Scaffolding Training Certificate for a minimum of 6 months
- lives and works in England
- is aged 19 – 23
- has a contract of employment
- employer must only employ less than 250 people
- must be your 1st NVQ Level 2
Part Funded CISRS Part 2 Scaffolding Training Including NVQ level 2
Funding is available for anyone who:
- has held a CISRS Part 1 Scaffolding Training Certificate for a minimum of 6 months
- lives and works in England
- is aged 19+ and already hold an NVQ Level 2 or above
- is age 24+ and don’t hold NVQ level 2 already
- has a contract of employment
- employer must only employ less than 250 people
- Self employed

CITB Grant Available for in scope companies
The Short Duration off-the-job training grant has been maintained at £50 per day.
You can claim for attendance on construction-related training courses of three hours or more for your construction employees, labour-only sub-contractors (LOSC) and agency staff.
The grant is £50 per person for each full day of training
Grant is available for:
- training of three hours or more which is directly related to the construction industry
- supervisory and management courses for technical and site management occupations
- sales and marketing courses, for sales staff employed by house builders or kitchen and bathroom fitters
- environmental and sustainability courses
- customer services staff employed by plant and equipment hire businesses, who attend construction-related courses
- training under the Construction Industry Scaffolding Record Scheme (CISRS)
Vocational Qualifications (VQ) Achievement Grants
You can claim for your employees, labour-only sub-contractors (LOSC) and agency staff who achieve approved Vocational Qualifications (VQs) at Level 2 and above in any subject.
Also you can claim:
- £400 for each Level 2
You can claim a maximum of two VQs at each level, per person, per lifetime.
Grant is available for VQs in any subject, awarded through:
- Off-the-job training
- On Site Assessment and Training (OSAT)
NASC Members funding
Qualifying the Workforce 2014 is back again, NASC have managed to obtain addition funding from the CITB this means that you will be able to received £125.00 per person when you apply for the following CISRS Cards
Scaffolder, Advanced Scaffolder, Supervsiors and the new COTS course when you have applied for a labourer or initial Trainee Scaffolder Card.
