What Does PASMA Stand For?

PASMA are the Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association. They are the organisation that “knows mobile towers, and cares about the people who use them.” In the United Kingdom, they are the authority when it comes to mobile tower access and regulations.

PASMA has the knowledge, experience, and information required to lead the industry in any work involving mobile towers. They’re entirely independent and self-financed, and they’re heavily involved in supporting the industry’s future. This covers the work spectrum all the way from mobile tower training to member and supplier involvement and care.

What Are PASMA’s Duties?

It’s important to note that PASMA are not a standalone body when it comes to Work at Height training – they’re heavily involved with other industry regulators and decision makers. Together, they design the most efficient training courses possible and support the industry in the most appropriate way.

On top of that, PASMA have a unique set of duties that they strive to excel in. These include:

  • Designing, maintaining and governing the industry standard training scheme for mobile tower work and any work related to them. This includes adhering to the competency requirements as defined by the Work at Height Regulations
  • Establishing a benchmark knowledge of mobile work and design. PASMA intends for their certificate and ID to be the standard proof of competence within the industry
  • Confirming their position as the mobile tower experts in the industry. This creates a centralised knowledge hub where workers will know where to find the information and factual data they require
  • Leading the way for future working at height and mobile tower standards. By sponsoring research and best practice investigations, PASMA are able to conduct their training in the industry with authority and implement any changes when they become necessary
