Rope Access Services

A flexible, cost-effective alternative to scaffolding. Our technicians reach awkward parts of a structure quickly, with equipment rigged and removed the same day.

Why rope access

Access without the scaffold

When scaffolding or powered access isn't practical, or costs too much for the job, rope access is the flexible alternative. Technicians reach difficult areas quickly, without waiting for a scaffold to go up.

Equipment is set up and removed the same day, so sites stay more secure and there is far less disruption for the building and the people using it.

Trained, assessed and prepared for rescue

The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 set the health and safety duties for construction and maintenance work, including rope access. Our technicians are qualified under IRATA International, whose scheme also covers rescue procedures.

Every job starts with a risk assessment. Equipment is inspected before and after use, and anything showing wear or damage is removed from service immediately.

What is rope access?

A way of reaching height using ropes, harnesses and specialist equipment rather than scaffolding or a powered platform, often used where access is difficult or time is short.

How is rope access different from scaffolding or a MEWP?

Scaffolding has to be erected and dismantled, and MEWPs are limited by ground conditions and reach. Rope access avoids both, with equipment removed at the end of each day.

Is rope access safe?

Yes, when carried out by trained technicians using the right equipment and safe systems of work. It uses two independent rope systems, so if one failed the other would still support the technician.

What qualifications do rope access technicians need?

Training and assessment against a recognised standard. IRATA sets the competence levels used across the UK industry.

What equipment is used?

Two independent rope systems, a harness, descenders, ascenders and connectors, all rated for industrial rope access and inspected before and after each job.

How much does rope access cost?

It depends on the site, the work and how long access is needed. Get in touch for a quote.
