Secured Long Term Scaffolding Consultancy Project in China.

long-termSafety & Access have successfully commenced a long term scaffolding consultancy project with UK-based Dana Petroleum and its partner Cieco who have awarded a major project to the Chinese Cosco Shipyard Group for the engineering, procurement and construction contract for its Western Isles Floating Production Storage and Offloading unit. (FPSO)

long-term2The Western Isles project is to develop two oil fields called Harris and Barra in the Northern North Sea, 160km east of the Shetlands Islands and 12km west of Tern field.

The Harris and Barra oil fields lie by 165 meter water depth with a total depth of 2000 meters.

Dana and Cieco estimate the Harris and Barra oil fields to contain 100 million barrel of oil equivalent out of which 45 million are recoverable reserves.

Mr David Faulkner of Safety & Access has commenced a two year + contract with to act as scaffolding coordinator and adviser for the project on behalf of the client.

Once the project construction is completed at the fabrication yard near to Shanghai in the PRC, the FPSO will be sailed to the Western Coast of Scotland to commence service.
