Safety & Access UK open the first CISRS Scaffolding Skills Training Centre in Qatar and host major event to promote established scaffolding training standards in the region.
Safety & Access in partnership with AECOR are extremely proud to announce the opening of the first CISRS scaffolding training facility in Qatar. Following an independent audit last week; the centre, situated in at Al Khor, close to Ras Laffan has been granted independent accreditation by CISRS for delivery of scaffolding skills, basic and advanced scaffold inspection and scaffolding supervisor training.
An event was held the following day to promote the benefits of independently accredited training standards and the availability now in Qatar for CISRS training.
Rick Statham, Joint Managing Director for Safety and Access said; “We have been working with our partners on this project for the last year and we are delighted that we have now reached our aim of CISRS accreditation here in Qatar. The availability of the training at Al Khor is of great interest to our clients that seek formal qualifications in scaffolding. We are overwhelmed at the attendance here today and I thonk that this demonstrates clearly the real appetite in Qatar to enhance an already well established safety culture.”
The launch event held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Doha was heavily subscribed and attended by over 70 people. Representatives from local government, clients and contractors received the presentation and then participated a lively and interactive Q&A session. The event was followed by lunch and a chance to ask further questions. Speakers included Rick Statham (Safety & Access) and Dave Mosley (CISRS)
The centre in Qatar is the latest addition from the Nottingham based UK business that has added CISRS accredited centres to India, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates supplementing two established centres in the UK in the East Midlands and Immingham.
The AECOR Safety & Access training centre has been granted the new facility accreditation for training in CISRS Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Overseas Scaffolder Training Scheme (OSTS), Basic SITS (Scaffold Inspection Training Scheme), Advanced Scaffold Inspection (ASI), SST (Scaffolding Supervisor Training) and CUPLOK Systems Scaffold Product Training Scheme (SSPTS) courses.
