CISRS International Card Scheme (OSTS) Celebrates 10 Years and 20,000+ Cards Issued
The Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS) Overseas Scaffolder Training Scheme (OSTS) is celebrating 10 years since its launch in 2013 and the milestone of 20,000+ cards issued (21,141 as of May 2023) to cardholders worldwide.
Safety & Access currently have accredited OSTS centres located in Abu Dhabi, Malaysia, India, Nepal, Oman, Qatar, and Trinidad.
International training organisations partner with CISRS approved UK providers to ensure the quality and rigour applied to the training scheme in the UK is mirrored overseas. The strict accreditation and annual audit criteria covers every aspect of the overseas training process – including standard of facilities, instructor qualifications, course content, certification, administration etc.
Sandeep Pakhrin Lama, Managing Director of Aecor International is a long-serving CISRS partner with Safety and Access, who currently has centres in Nepal, India, Abu Dhabi, and Qatar. He added:
The ever-increasing demand for a qualified workforce has put CISRS at the forefront of scaffolding training across the world. This is particularly the case in the Middle East with their ever-thriving construction and oil gas sectors, where they demand the highest standards of safety, competence, and quality at work. Their trust in CISRS (OSTS) is testament of their confidence in the reliable, quality, and competent training provided through the various CISRS approved training centres such as AECOR and Safety & Access.
Dave Mosley, CISRS CEO said: “I would like to thank all the organisations and staff involved in delivering CISRS OSTS. It is a major undertaking to gain and maintain our accreditation. Lots of industry training takes place around the world, but it is only CISRS OSTS that mirrors the highest recognised UK scaffolding standards. It is the OSTS training providers’ hard work and dedication to delivering quality training programmes that will lead to improved skills and safety and regulation of competence in the scaffolding sector worldwide.“
