DavitPro

A safe overhead anchor at the building edge

On buildings with roof-mounted plant or isolated strips, where parapet protection isn't possible, DavitPro is a cost-effective and discreet anchor system. It is ideal wherever a suspended load needs supporting, particularly suspension equipment over the edge of a building.

We supply and install DavitPro davit arms and bases across the UK.

DavitPro davit arm system installed at a roof edge
Simple and flexible

Rig safely, then descend freely

A standard davit arm has a rotating head fitted to an upright and a fixed base. Fixing sockets can be placed at several points on the roof, so one arm can move between locations.

The rotating head makes initial rigging of ropes safe and simple. With an elevated anchor point, users can swing out over the edge and descend without touching the building. When not in use, the arm packs into a carrying case for storage.

What is a davit arm used for?

A davit arm provides an elevated anchor for rope access, window cleaning, facade maintenance and equipment lifting, so a person or load can be safely suspended over the edge of a building.

How is a davit arm installed?

Fixing sockets are installed at the required points on the roof or structure, and the arm drops into the socket for use. It can be removed and stored in a carrying case, or left in place between uses.

Can a davit arm be used to lift materials?

Davit arms are primarily certified for personnel and rope access. Lifting materials is only possible where the specific system has been engineered and certified for it, so confirm this for your setup before use.

What standards does DavitPro meet?

DavitPro is tested to BS 8610:2017 for up to two users, with inspection requirements set out in BS 7883:2019. If a davit is used for lifting, LOLER 1998 also applies.

Can davit arms be retrofitted?

Yes. Bases can be retrofitted to most existing structures, which makes them practical where a building wasn't designed for rope access.

How often should a davit system be inspected?

Every 6 months by a competent person, in line with BS 7883:2019, checking structural integrity, the rotating head and that identification markings remain legible. Davits used to lift people also need a LOLER thorough examination every 6 months.
